A conference on Commercial Sustainability in UAE football, organised by the Pro League Committee in collaboration with the UAE Football Academy, commenced on Tuesday the 28th of August at Jumeirah Mina Salaam.
The conference - which includes managing directors, board members, coaches, and academy managers from the respective clubs - started off with a word from AFC Development Officer Robert Sabeh, who spoke about AFC’s plan to develop football academies. This was followed by a word from Ruben Jongkind, Creative Director at the Johan Cruyff Academy, which focused on the best academy model and how academies can benefit football clubs.
The second part of the conference started off with a word by Stuart Larman, AFC MA Development Officer, on the targets concerning commercial sustainability, which was followed by examples of commercial sustainability provided by Ex-Liverpool and Premier League CEO Rick Parry.
Finally, the second part of the conference concluded with football development and educations specialist James Tucker who stressed on the importance of education and its role in developing the clubs.
It is also worth mentioning that the conference is part of PLC’s plan to improve professionalism levels in clubs, which is done by giving the club employees necessary expertise.
